Klarna’s design system Bubble has been used by over 100 product teams, 100+ designers and 250+ engineers. It caters for native app and desktop use-cases, offers custom theming, screen templates, and company-wide guidance.

My involvement in the project
As a Design Lead, my responsibilities included conducting continuous discovery on internal and external needs (coworkers and end users), identifying systemization opportunities, crafting pixel-perfect designs, setting standards for design and engineering handover, and comms.
Being on a central team to an organization this size meant finding a way forward in constant complexity, coming back to the why, making difficult decisions on aggressive scope cuts, paying attention to details, anticipating systemic problems that need to be caught early.
As of 2024, the senior leadership saw a great potential in further developing our design system. The team received the mandate to rework our system from scratch to get rid of any legacy and tap into opportunities AI brought in the area of product development.
